 The Crested Butte Mountain Theatre holds open auditions for "Becky Shaw" on Monday and Tuesday, August 12 and 13, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mallardi Cabaret Theatre. Written by award-winning playwright Gina Gionfriddo, the play will be directed by Tricia Seeberg. Performances take place September 27 and 28 and October 4 and 5. The Mallardi Cabaret Theatre is at 403 Second Street in Crested Butte above Paragon Gallery. "Becky Shaw" is an amusing and cleverly constructed comedy of romantic errors about ambition, the cost of being truthful, and the perils of a blind date. The fast and funny dialogue mixes sharp wit and humor while navigating between five distinctively perverse and disingenuously dysfunctional characters. Three women (age 30s–50+) and two men (age 30s) are needed for this Pulitzer Prize finalist. No experience is necessary and no preparation is required for auditions.
