 The Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum presents another installment of the Illuminations Slideshow on Thursday, October 11th, 7pm. At the end of the 70s, the Town of Crested Butte was going through many changes. Elk Avenue had been paved, street lamps installed, and a burgeoning tourist industry was just beginning to take hold. The year round population was still low and a trip to the post office was guaranteed to take a while as everyone took the opportunity to catch up on the latest gossip. Many local photographers began to take advantage of this beautiful environment and the unique people who made Crested Butte such a special place. These photographers began to amass a varied and beautiful collection of images that represented the heart of this valley. Myles Rademan took it upon himself to put these amazing images together as a slideshow to share with the whole community, creating the annual event, Illuminations Slide Show.
