Mountain Roots Food Project is seeking input from professional chefs and other wholesale purchasers interested in serving their customers more locally raised food and joining our growing local food promotion network. Customer demand for local food is on the rise and Mountain Roots has been awarded a USDA Local Food Promotion planning grant that will streamline business relationships between participating producers and consumers in the Gunnison Valley and greater Southwest Colorado region. We invite buyers at restaurants, grocers, schools, and institutions to join us for an interactive industry conversation taking place online from 1:00-3:30pm on Monday, February 1st. Participating chefs will have the opportunity to help "field test" strategies identified at the forum during the upcoming 2021 growing season. The first 10 chefs or establishments to sign up for the roundtable will receive a cash stipend of $50 upon completion of the session.
