West African Dance and Drum Classes with Master teacher Fara Tolno, see attached schedule for many class options and details. Spots are limited, Make sure to sign up ahead of time. Black History Month Celebration: West African Cultural Enrichment Residency Exciting things are happening in our valley! To celebrate and honor Black History Month and equity in the arts this February, the Center for the Arts + the Kissidugu Foundationwill collaborate to bring renowned artist and educator Fara Tolno , from Guinea, West Africa, to the Gunnison Valley for a three-week,valley-wide cultural enrichment residency. This includes all-level, community classes at the Center for the Arts theater in traditional Guinean dance and drumming, Afro-fusion classes, Dundun dance class, ongoing adult classes, and drum and dance classes for kids. The ongoing adult classes will culminate in a community performance piece that will bea part of a virtual performance online at the Center for the Arts. Classes will begin on Wednesday Feb. 3rd and continue through Saturday Feb. 20th. For more information, schedule details, and to register for classes visit kissidugu.org or crestedbuttearts.org.
