This well-told tale of lovers’ strife finds an intimate niche within American culture and gives new purpose to the quest for peace in the grips of turmoil. The young lovers, Romeo and Juliet, become pawns for power, greed, and hatred between their two respective houses - the Montagues and Capulets. However, the couple's mentors, the local Parson and Juliet's nurse, recognize the potential to put an end to the families' ancient hatred and reverse political tensions, if they can foster the budding romance. Good intentions are waged against ultimate sacrifice in this truly timeless masterpiece. Director: Jake Offen Tickets: $15/adults, $12/members. Click here for the event website |
