 Join us as we host a panel discussion with author Paolo Bacigalupi and water expert Ashley Bemebenek at the Center for the Arts on Tuesday, September 21st at 5:30pm. Paolo Bacigalupi is an internationally bestselling author of speculative fiction. Paolo’s work often focuses on questions of sustainability and the environment, most notably the impacts of climate change. His latest novel for adults is The New York Times Bestseller THE WATER KNIFE, a near-future thriller about climate change and drought in the southwestern United States. He will be joined by local water and soil scientist Ashley Bembenek. Ashley Bembenek is the Executive Director of the Coal Creek Watershed Coalition, a non-advocacy environmental organization that has been actively working to "protect and restore" the watersheds surrounding Crested Butte, Colorado since 2003. Ashley graduated with honors from Montana State University with a degree in environmental science that focused on soil and water. Join us for a presentation on water issues in the West, an urgent and timely topic, as well as a Q&A session with both Paolo and Ashley.
