We invite you to join us in watching and discussing a pre-recorded talk by Manuel Pastor about how building a social movement can help achieve equity and how communities can be involved. This session will be facilitated by Dr. Matt Aronson, P.h.D., Western State Colorado University. Manuel Pastor is a Professor of Sociology, American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California. His presentation included success stories and a list of 10 key elements to building an effective social movement, such as the need for scale, a viable economic model and programmatic policy package. Dr. Pastor also serves as Director of the Program for Environmental and Regional Equity and co-Director of USC’s Center for the Study of Immigrant Integration . Click here for the event website |
